Hello! You may know us as TravelAndVeg, but here in our blog, we will be Hector & Mon. Although our history goes back to 2014, when we first met, today we will be telling the story of how we ended up in a cute little flat in Barcelona, Spain.
We met the first day of Uni, as we both got into Engineering School in the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago. Fast forward 2 years, Mon was miserable. Mon: I didn’t like most of my classes, so I failed a lot of them. The only thing I liked about Engineering was my friends, but I didn’t feel that that was enough to study a whole bachelor degree. So one day I woke up and started to look at Spanish universities that had a Biotechnology Degree, as I have both Chilean and Spanish nationalities thanks to my dad. I did not tell anyone about this for a couple of months, and then I decided it: I was going to Barcelona. Many people thought I was not serious about it, and that I was going to forget it in a few weeks. But time passed and with each day I felt more and more drawn to the idea of studying in Europe. Long story short, I got accepted in the university I wanted (University of Barcelona) in the degree that I wanted, so I packed my things, said my goodbyes and came here!! It was one of the most terrifying things that I’ve ever done, but the best choice I’ve made (besides marrying Hector).
At the same time, Hector was not so happy at uni either, but he managed to pass all his classes and finish his Engineering Degree within 5 years. In 2018, when we started dating, he began to search for ways to come to Barcelona with me. He decided to do an internship with a trains company in Ripollet, which was only 40 minutes by train away from Barcelona. He started living here in early 2019, and that was when our adventures began!!
In the beginning of our travels we knew very little about photography, and if you scroll a lot down our Instagram feed you can totally tell!! But as we started our page we felt drawn to learning and studying new ways to improve our pictures. We’ve watched so many of tutorials and still, it’s not easy, but we just love it! We hope you join us in our adventures and travels!

Us back in 2014! We did not know back then we were going to be husband and wife. We just knew we loved each other so much!
